Wee Bit Wednesday... Procrastinators Edition!

Procrastinating with work majorly today, so figured i'd link up!

{one} if you won a trip to Disneyland/world, who would you take with you?
well the obvious answer is the BF... but i'd also consider my brother, he's never been there before either. As kids, we were given the option of, a trip to disney or a pool. we went with the pool and never made it to disney!

{two} when was the last time you listened to a CD?
Funny enough, C brought down the new Jennifer Hudson that she burned the other day, so i listened as i imported it into my itunes

{three} what spice/seasoning is your favorite?
hmmmm, this is a toughie... i guess lately i've been going for chilli powder... the other night i made turkey chilli black bean burgers and they were delish!

{four} if you were in a band, what kind of music would you play?
Definitely singer/songwriter stuff, Ingrid, Sarah B, Kate Voegle...

{five} if you could have personally witnessed one historical event, which one would it be?
Hmmmmm... even though im not african american, i would say to witness MLK's "i have a dream" speech would have been pretty inspirational and historical.

{six} if you could go back to school, what would you study?
Either veterinary medicine, Web Design, or education (i know, they are all totally unrelated)

{seven} if you could go to one sporting event, all expenses paid, which one would you see?
My JETS fanatic BF would kill me if i didn't say the Superbowl. He already told me to start saving for when the Superbowl comes to NY/NJ in 2013. LOL!

{eight} do you drive an automatic or a manual?
Automatic... think im too much of a spaz for manual unfortunately. :D

{nine} are you comfortable speaking in front of people?
I definitely get nervous, but am able to hold my own and do a decent job. I think its all about confidence, even if you have to fake it til you feel comfortable. But if i was given the choice, i'd rather not!

{ten} have you ever experienced an earthquake?
No, and i hope i never have to. My heart goes out to all those in Japan that have to clean up and have lost loved ones.

Blogging Questions, help me please!

So as i delve deeper into the world of blogging, i have a few questions for any of my more experienced readers.

First, what's the easiest way to get photos into your blogs? Namely, from the iPhone. I find this process to be so tedious, and i feel like there's gotta be a better way. My process involves either a) emailing the photo to myself and then downloading it from my email to my desktop or b) uploading the photo to mobileme and then downloading to my desktop.

Second, do you guys use any kind of online storage for your photos? Flickr, Photobucket and then upload from there? What have you found to be the easiest? I find that most of my photos from my digital camera are either on my home laptop hard drive... or they're on facebook. But from facebook, i then find myself dl'ing them to my desktop. is there a way to link them?

Third, when you post photos from another site, like a google search, do you just copy the image location? Do you always link where you got that photo? I just don't want to step on anyone's toes with unintentionally "stealing" their images.

Anyway, if anyone out there can help a newbie blogger out, that would be awesome!

Fell in love ... with a song...

And yes, this happens to me. often.

i never considered myself to really be passionate about music. but, looking over my itunes library that has over 5,000 songs in it, i guess i sort of am.

sometimes i hear a song, and it just enchants me... brings me to another world, makes me feel, and i just get lost in the lyrics, lost in the rifs and the tune. i'm not a musical expert by far but when i fall in love with a song, its almost an obsession.

and tonights obsession hit home tonight in cardio kickboxing. it wasn't a crazy go get 'em kind of song, rather, it was the cool down song. this was actually the third time i heard this song, since i've taken this class a few times now and the more i hear it, the more i love it. especially since i also love the tai chi moves we do to it.

Enjoy!

Low Key Weekend

Well this weekend was somewhat uneventful/low key, but def still good... started out the weekend Friday night at Oyako Tso's for dinner (no meat Fridays!) I got all sushi (which was delish) and the BF got THIS as an appetizer... it looked kind of scary, i didn't even want to taste it. he said it was good though he wouldn't get it again! LOL!

Saturday, we were up bright and early, hit the gym (yes, im trying to be good and stay motivated) and then off to the Jersey Shore Outlets for work clothes for the boy. He killed it and got a ton of shirts and jeans and work boots. Looked like such a cutie when he left for work on Sunday! (Ugh, i know, i gotta get better with this whole picture thing...) Saturday night we went to my parents for dinner since the little bro was home. Here's a pic of me and him from his bday last year.

So we hung there for a while, and then bounced back to his house for the night. i think i passed out by like 10:30... yup, i'm 32 going on 83, who knew... but in all fairness we were up at like 6:30.

sunday was another early morning... the BF left for work, and i hit group kick at the gym. it was SOOOO crowded! i guess people like to start their sunday mornings punching and kicking! the instructors were really good and got everyone going, the workout totally kicked my butt! the rest of the day sunday, i was home and cleaning and doing laundry. since i pretty much split my time living with my bf, i was in dire need of a laundry day. later in the afternoon i headed out to the grocery store, then back to the bf's to make dinner.

i made this - stuffed pepper soup... soooo yummy! and this - Chili- Spiced Turkey- Bean Burgers With Guacamole

however, i changed it up and used these for the buns! in an effort to save some calories and unneeded carbs...

overall it was a good weekend, what did you do?

PS. not sure if i even have any readers? but if i do, am i doing ok with this whole blogging thing? ;)

A little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Friday is finally here, seems like this week was a slow one, but i'm pretty sure i say that every week.

Not much planned for the weekend, just going to run a few errands tomorrow. On the hunt for a new dog food for the pups (picky little bastards they are). Currently they are not eating Wellness Chicken & Sweet Potato... which Scooter seems to like (and then not like) and Rio will only eat if i feed him by hand (Yes, SPOILED LITTLE DOG!) They used to eat the Cesar Cuisine, but my dog trainer told me i should switch to something a little more nutritious and healthy. And me, being the good doggie mom of course wants my boys to eat the best, so i switched to the Wellness. They also eat Royal Canin Yorky dry food, but they are equally as picky about that. UGH. So, the hunt will be on for something wholesome yet TASTY for their little palettes.

Other than that, the BF wants to run up to the Jersey Shore Outlets (yes they are really called that, no they are not named after the show LOL) and get some new work boots and pants. Which will mean, that i will have to do everything in my power to NOT shop. I'll update you on how that goes on Monday. Though i was there a couple months ago and nothing really caught my eye. I just feel like right now we're so in-between seasons, that i don't even know what to shop for. Do i buy spring stuff when today i had on a scarf and gloves because its only in the 30's when i leave my house? Do i buy more long sleeves since i sit in my office with my heater on everyday? So that's why i'm thinking i'm just better off NOT shopping at all, and save myself some grief (and some cashola too)!

And its been a sad sad week, since i realized not only has Elizabeth Taylor gone up to heaven, but so has my flat iron. Yes, i know its shocking that i have a flat iron, being i'm asian. But my hair seems to have this weird wave that likes to make its way thru it. When i got my Brazilian Blowout, it subsided, but since the blowout is pretty much gone, the wave is on its way back. So out comes the flat iron. Only for me to realize, its not really heating up, and i have to run it over the same strand of hair several times. So i went onto ULTA.com to check out new ones and HOLY STICKER SHOCK batman! i didn't realize they were so pricey! So any recommendations would be MUCH appreciated! I'm thinking a CHI, but would be open to other brands.

Hope you all have a good weekend!

Yeah, that really happened...

Sometimes, I feel like I'm not as smart as I think I am.

Case in point. Lunch today.

Went to Sally's Beauty Supply with C to pick up a few things... afterwards, we decided to eat at this Chinese Buffet.

So, we walk in, they seat us, we're looking around... the lady comes over takes our drink order, brings us our drinks and walks away.

A few seconds go by (we're just sitting there staring at each other)

Me:
So um........ what do we do now?
C: Um... I'm really not sure... (looking around)
Me: Do we like, just go up there?
C: I don't really know...
Me: Well i don't want to go up there if that's not how this works, they don't bring us menus or anything (keep in mind the sign outside said ALL YOU CAN EAT BUFFET)
C: I have no clue... i guess we just go, but wouldn't they tell us?
Me: Maybe i should call G and ask...

Which i then proceeded to call my dear bf and ask him the stupidest question in the world. "So, I'm at this chinese buffet for lunch... and i'm not sure what we're supposed to do, like, do we just go up there?"

First silence. Followed by about a minute and a half of hysterical laughter.

YUP, that's me, asking the dumb and obvious question. So sue me, the last time i was at a buffet was when i was like 9. I didn't know protocol and i didn't want to just roll up there and start shoveling dumplings onto my plate!

So, after the phone call, we ran up there like starving lunatics made our way up there and had a great lunch. Hahahaha... lesson learned though tomorrow i think we're just gonna play it safe and hit subway. i know the protocol there (order your sandwich, move down the line, etc)

What I'm Playing Thursday!

Photobucket

My mom asked to get this album and i actually love it as well... Adele just has an amazingly smooth voice... all her songs on her album are good!

An oldie but goodie, sometimes ya just gotta rock out to a little punk! this reminds me of my early college days (ugh, im OLD!)

Currently my absolute FAVORITE band... i can play this song on repeat for hours! And Danny O'Donaghue is some serious eye candy!

Thanks to Sarah at we're just like you only prettier for this fun button!

Wee Bit Wednesday!

{one} what was your first job?
i was a mother's helper/babysitter to 2 adorable little girls, Morgan & Paige

{two} have you ever seen a stand up comedian?
Tons! Lisa Lampanelli (twice) Tracy Morgan and John Leguizamo to name a few!

{three} when was the last time you played mini golf?
hmmm, gotta be a while ago... maybe a few summers ago with my ex? I really should play more mini golf though, i think it would help my putting game on the regular golf course

{four} what was the last picture you took?
This morning of my fat buddha belly... professionally see here

{five} burnt food: yes or no?
only hot dogs and bacon!

{six} if you have a pocket full of change, what do you do with it?
put it in my coin purse which is inside my regular purse... then stick it in my piggy bank when i get home!

{seven} can you touch your tongue to your nose?
nope. no skills.

{eight} do you scrapbook?
i was going strong and steady a couple of years ago, but ive fallen out of it, never any time!

{nine} do you buy lottery tickets?
only when its a big one... like now mega millions is over $200 mil, so i might venture out to get one

{ten} do you prefer to be in front of the camera or behind it?
hmmm, usually behind it, im def the picture taker in my group of friends. but recently i had an opportunity to be a model for a day and it was quite glamourous!

Happy Hump Day!

Woke up to a little snow today... isn't the first day of spring a few days away? instead its gloomy and COLD out... it was one of those mornings when i sooooooo did not want to get out of bed...

Had one of those flip out, i-have-nothing-to-wear-i-look-fat-and-ugly-in-everything moments this morning. since i knew it was going to be cold out, i had planned on wearing my black express ribbed turtleneck, skinny jeans and rainboots. Fine. however, when i put said outfit on, i was overcome with horror and disgust (ok, yes, im being a LITTLE dramatic)...

i guess as i move further and further into my 30s, my metabolism just isn't what it used to be. long gone are the days when i could eat whatever i wanted, and barely exercise and wouldn't gain a pound... and it sucks. and what sucks even more? the fact that i LOVE to eat! and i have an italian bf who equally loves to eat! (see this post on our sonic run)

the only 2 saving graces to the fact that i ended up in the turtleneck (the warmth factor won me over) are that i am hitting the gym again tonight. depsite the fact that i can barely move from the cardio kickboxing class i went balls to the wall in last night, i am determined to make it to the gym 3x during the week and at least once this weekend. AND the other saving grace is that im dentally challenged. LOL had some dental work done this week and to make a long story short, can only eat soft foods. so even though it makes me a cranky toddler around meal times, i'm hoping this almost all soup/soft foods diet will at least take off some of the spare tire i seem to have developed around my midsection.

And with that said, just got an email from VS advertising their summer dresses... hahaha...

Testing testing 123...

Just downloaded a blog app for my iPhone and testing it out...

Anyone else blog from their phones? This one doesn't allow photos I think unless you purchase the full app. I wanted to test out the free lite version first though!

Will keep you posted if this app is worth it!

Weekend Recap

A dreary Monday morning to start the week off... heard there's more rain on the way, boo (though i do LOVE wearing my burberry rainboots that the BF got me for Christmas).

The past weekend was pretty busy - starting with a baby shower Friday night for a co-worker/friend. It was complete with the "Babe-o-lympics" with a logo designed by yours truly!

The games were all SO adorable and fun - and even a little bit gross (blindfolded baby food tasting was one i could have done without!) Overall, my team came in 3rd place, taking home the Bronze Medal aka "You really cleaned up at this shower" yummy pear smelling body wash! Thanks Court and Jen for doing such a great job organizing the night's events!

They also surprised the mom-to-be with... candy sushi! What a cute idea since Wendy loves sweets AND sushi but is banned from sushi til May!

Saturday the BF and i headed to the Manasquan Reservoir to hike the 5 mile perimeter, and boy was it a workout! he wasn't quite prepared for the hike and i didn't realize how out of shape i am! Gotta get back to the gym again this week to build back up... immediately afterwards we rewarded ourselves with Sonic! LOL! Yup, 2 fat kids walk 5 miles only to stuff our faces with burgers and chilli cheese tots.

Saturday night, we headed into Staten Island so i could meet his mom for the first time! She was an absolute sweetheart and we went to dinner at a nice italian restaurant - then after headed out to meet some of his friends for a drink.

Sunday was a lay low kind of day, met my parents at the dog park to let the kids run around a bit... the weather was nice, but a little too windy for my liking. (I know, i need to be a better blogger and take more photos, im working on it! LOL!)

How were your weekends?

Last Night I Had a Date With "Gym"...

Last night was my first night in the gym since... gosh, i can't even REMEMBER when. a few weeks? life has just been so busy that after work i am constantly running around, to appointments, dog training sessions, doctors, dentists... OK, maybe i'm exaggerating JUST a bit. but it has been busy. and dating an italian that LOVES food just as much as i do is NOT boding well for my mid-section. luckily its still winter (9 more days!) and i can hide my buddha belly.

I hit the treadmill for a whole HOUR and was so proud of myself. cranked the incline up to 4.0, though i walked the whole time, baby steps people, it was my first day back... LOL! i put some Law & Order on the TV and walked away... not too bad - i managed to still burn 387 calories.

Tonight, i'm off to dinner with friends and then have things planned the rest of the week after work, so my next date with "gym" will have to wait til Saturday. My only hope is that next week will be a little lighter and i can resume my workout schedule, at least a LITTLE bit! Summer is only a few short months away and i can't bury the Victoria's Secret swimsuit catalog at the bottom of the magazine pile forever!

Happy Hump Day! Stay dry!

Twinkle Toes!

Finally got to the mall this weekend and picked up a pair of these!

They are super comfy, light-weight and pretty! I've been seeing them on everyone's blogs for some time now and when i went to check them out in the Gap, they were on sale for 40% off, so they came out to a little over $23! I chose black patent leather since it will match most of my outfits. I love that they fold up into a travel bag, though I doubt that i will be doing much of that... glad i finally made the purchase after seeing these for so long!

I want that closet!

Being the organizational freak that i am, one of the things i love more than anything is having my own walk in closet. Growing up at home, i had a really small closet (though it was bigger than my brothers) and even though it was little, i was still all about keeping it neat and organized.

Someday, i'd like to have an amazing closet like this...
or like this....

this closet would take up an entire room!

until then, i guess i'll just stick to color coordinating everything in my existing closet!

This week I’m saying SO WHAT if…

1. our christmas lights are STILL up outside
2. i had 2 bacon cheeseburgers in one week
3. i'm more worried about where we're going to eat lunch than where i'm going to live in 6 months
4. i check my bank account incessantly as if i'm "magically willing" my tax refund to be there
5. i haven't listened to my trainer and still let the dogs snuggle in bed with me! (oops!)

What are your SO WHAT's for the week?

Hello Yellow!

Picked these babies up at Target last week (i'm so addicted to Target shopping, i think i need Target Shoppers Anonymous)... anyway. they're fun and comfy and just make you feel like spring is around the corner. Now all i need is some warm weather to wear them! Today looks gorgeous out, but is deceivingly COLD! So these flats will just have to wait a while longer before being broken out of the box. Wondering if i should start looking for a matching sundress for them. Hmmmm... ;P
